This is all being done on MacOSX 10.4 "Tiger". 1.5 GB RAM Dual G5 1.8Ghz, etc. etc.
When the numbers are red - I'm also recording to disk. That makes my framerate go down as QT sucks the bandwidth. Even though I apparently get each frame as they're recorded properly - and this streaming stuff occurs after I modify the frame with the readout.

This picture shows what the initial image looks like. Only the very top draws itself.
==================================================================================
I can "clear the screen" by waving my hand around to get as many changes as possible. This seems to work mostly as expected:
==================================================================================
Now we have a relatively decent stream....
==================================================================================
But as time goes on, the image starts to weird out, and do the Salvadore Dali melting watch thing: Ignore the readout in this case, this starts happening with a second or two (taking screen shot caused my program to crash)
==================================================================================
And more....
==================================================================================
And more....
==================================================================================
Until it's just a purple amorphous blob....
==================================================================================
If I create movement, the blob will move around - in correct time - but it's still a blob. It tracks my beard quite well - but leaves it totally wacked. If I create a great deal of movement, I get the whole frame correctly again.
==================================================================================
This is presented in the hopes that somebody out there more knowledgeable about this will say something like, "Obviously, as any moron can see, you forgot to do 'x' " -- or whatever.
Thanks!
